In an effort to raise funds to supplement the State provision for the dependants of New Soldiers who fell in battle or were wounded, South Otago's special effort was the Queen Carnival and coronation of the successful Queen in the Oddfellows' Hall, Balclutha, on Friday, August 20, 1915. This card features the Catlins Queen, Nurse Campbell of Owaka Hospital.
