About this object A black and white photograph of Private Angus Frank Cameron of Mataura. Angus joined the Otago Mounted Rifles in February 1915 and was one of the unlucky ones who never came home. He was killed in action on 15 September 1916 during the Battle of the Somme. The Cameron's farmed just east of Mataura and were known as a very musical family. Angus and his five brothers all played in the Mataura Kilties, Angus was a drummer.
