About this objectA hand made soldier doll modelled by the maker in the form of her fiance, Captain T. Wyville Rutherford. The doll has been fashioned from khaki coloured woollen yarn which has been bound, tied, knitted and cut to resemble a male figure fully dressed in a World War I Officer's uniform including puttees, jodhpurs, jacket (featuring two real military brass buttons), hat - (featuring a regimental badge), a wrist watch fashioned from paper with hand drawn numbers. a leather belt and hat band, and embroidered face, including a short moustache.
