From 1898 the company Eastman Kodak had introduced easy to operate portable, inexpensive cameras and film developing processes that were aimed at the mass consumer market.
In 1914, despite being forbidden, many a soldiers and nurses carried cameras with them, determined to capture their part in the ‘great adventure’.
